Ugh. Work work work. I can't believe how slow, inefficent and unfun
windows is. I love using Windows 2000 as a desktop, but it makes
me insane to configure and install it. I wonder if I would have
a better time installing FreeBSD or linux. Probably. At least then
I'd feel cool.
I just opened some chex mix, and exploded it all over my desk.
Cool. I get so much spam at work, it amazes me. Delete, delete,
delete. Our receptionist is leaving, and they're looking for a
replacement. I think that position has the highest turnover rate
in our company. Probably because its so boring. I will tell Michele,
she needs a job. Now, let's talk about my Michele. She's got all
sorts of troubles. I told her that Jason and I would take her
to get a car battery this weekend. I also want to do a porn site
for her. I think that would be the most fun. I love having users.
It so rocks. Plus, I haven't gotten to design a site in a while
that is sort of campy and fun.
I dunno what's going on this weeknd. I want to go to Cyberia,
but I think there is 80s to be had at Karma. I'll most likely
be at Rarity for Red Square Retro again. Aside from that herpes
ridden asshole, Chris Wall being there, it was super fun. I really
would like to start physical violence with him. But, I'm trying
to remain above that. Ok, that is all.

Insanity happening at work. This whole windows networking idea is
complex. I've got everything basically accessible from my desk.
I hate leaving my office. Server rooms are cold. I can add users,
change passwords, defrag a work station, turn off sound, uninstall
hardware drivers, millions of options. Its nice. And full of potential
for evil. I'll be good
though. I was accused of being a bad administrator by my friend.
He would know, so, I suppose I have to behave better from now on.
Its just hard working at a company that tries to spend no money,
and accomplish lots of lofty ideals while paying their resident
genius the same she'd make working at the M.A.C.
counter. At least there I'd get free eyeliner. Haven't I been begging
you people for a job? Get me one. email
me if you want my resume.
On a more fun note, Envy of DigitalXTC
is a nice girl, and fun to look at. Go visit her site and send
her presents. Speaking of presents, I made a thinkgeek
wishlist. It has things on it that I really want. The Amazon
wishlist, while extensive is just sort of full of things that
are wishlisty. I really want the complete thinkgeek babydoll t
shirt collection. Not to mention the aluminum case with cool acrylic
cut out side panel. Mmmmm. Also, I've wanted one of those Axis
cameras forever. They're super cool. The quality is amazing. Mmmm,
streaming.

Gosh. Websites are hard. Went to Cowtippers for dinner last night.
And guess who I kidnapped/invited.... Jeffrey Elms! Yea! Unfortunately
he didn't bring his clipboard. Oh well. Maybe next time. I'm sure
he was prepared though - being an Eagle Scout and all.
After dinner we went and picked up Brandon and went to Rarity for
Red Square retro. Fun. There were scary, naughty pictures taken.
But, again... they most likely will never be seen on the internet
- Gosh.
I had a great weekend. Probably the best since the middle of last
year actually. Too much fun. Oh my. I think going out really improves
my outlook. I can see all my friends, and dance around and be silly
and have a good time and then go home and sleep until the middle
of the next day. I remember when I used to live my life like that.
I think just on the weekends is actually more fun. I'm all happy
and stuff. So happy in fact - I think I'm going to go see if I can
find bunny. I miss him. |

Ugh. Stressed out. Depressed. Ugh ugh ugh. Everyone went to MJQ
last night. Sniffle. I wish I had gone, but I stayed home and took
naked pictures of myself that the world will never see. It so rocks
that people wrote in their
livejournals mentioning I wasn't there. Yea! They like me, they
really, really like me. I want it to be summer. I want to go out
more. I want Nude Rock swimming parties. I want 688 back. Sigh.
I think summer will be good. We don't really have spring in Georgia.
It goes from freezing cold to burning hot in the course of a week.
So, it should be summer any day now. Last summer was the summer
of indie rock. I think this summer will be too. Heh. Maybe Jawbreaker
will put out a new album for the occasion.
I've been thinking about making a bio/about/faq type thing. Don't
know what format to do it in though. Plus, I feel like if people
want to know things about me, they will just ask.
I like this
boy's format. I may steal it. |

Just finished cooking some delicious spinach cheese pasta with alfredo
sauce. Mmmmm. I took pictures too. I'll post them tomorrow. While
I was all
bouncing around the kitchen Kent came on winamp. "Quiet
Heart" one of my favourite songs by them. Only "If
You Were Here" is better. Sigh. Not the best cooking music.
I don't listen to much Kent because they just make me cry and cry.
As do Gene
. But Gene are true britpop, and Kent are more exotic Scandinavian
pop. Hrm... I need to remind myself not to get personal on my website.
So... ummm, computers, nail polish, BSD, eyebrow waxing, naked
chicks on webcams, web building, clubbing, PHP is hard, lip
gloss, I want a debian workstation, tiaras, lug
Wednesday. There - that's more normal. |

Well, I got some practice MCSE tests. Check it out to see how horribly
I did. God, MCSE stuff is super hard. I'd rather deal with unix.
At least that's not cryptic and coo coo and mean. Anyway.... just
have to keep going I guess. The revolution must proceed. |

Awwwww. Pained
made me a poem in channel.
Its the te of Sherrod or something. Woo.
The wonderful thing about sherrods are: sherrods are wonderful
things. Their skirts are made out of rubber; their fingers are
covered in rings. They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, fun,
fun fun, fun, fun. But the most wonderful thing about Sherrods
is that she's the only one.
Nice, isn't it? Yea!

I redid the photo galleries. I think
they're a bit more organized now. Maybe. We'll see. Feel free to
fill out the contact form and
tell me what you think. I probably need a guestbook or a message
board or something. I've been so busy. I had a great weekend. Lots
of fun at Benihana, Jason
brought his camera, and here
you can see the lovely pictures. I took some, he took some, Heidi
took some. Lots of photographic fun was had. I'm going to try and
go get another compact flash reader tomorrow at CompUSA. I'm so
stressed out. It feels like it never ends. I've been obsessing over
the cam
portals lately. Some of those girls are pretty cool. I never
thought I'd say that, but... some of them are. Girls rule, boys
suck. Yeah yeah. |

Someone said once that the best way to tell if you've purged yourself
of an addiction is to be able to sit there right in front of it,
with the object of your affliction staring you in the face - and
not do it. Well... it appears I still have a problem. |

Oh yeah. My roommate woke up to Neil
Diamond marathon coming from my speakers. Cherry, Cherry, Forever
in Blue Jeans, I am I said, and then followed up with the requisite
Coming to America. Heh. I feel its my responsibility to expose him
to the great music of our parent's time. Mmmmm. You got the way
to move me.
We're going to have some Birthday Brunch at Flying
Biscuit now. I'm wearing my "Chicks
Dig Unix" t shirt from Thinkgeek
to impress all the *nix queens. Remember, tonight is Benihana,
and probably a lot of drunkenness. Not for me of course - I'm
a good girl. Heh. Meet at Sloan Square at 7:30 if you want to
go. Cherry baby, you really get to me.

So super busy. Had an interview yesterday. I think it went well.
I really really want that job now. I learned a bit more about the
responsibilities of the position and it sounds like the sort of
thing I am interested in. I need more
exposure to both windows and unix-based things, plus there is a
possibility of voip stuff, and I'm interested in that. After the
interview, I came home and reinstalled sifl so he would be FreeBSD4.5.
Nice nice. Still configuring X, and working on some other little
details, but for the most part I'm back in business. Feels nice
having a brand new install. I chose to install from scratch instead
of upgrade because I needed to redo the firewall rules and mess
with some other stuff. Plus, everyone knows - the more you install
stuff, the more fun and wonderful your life is. Heh.
Valentine's Day is stupid. I had several valentines though, and
that made
me feel a bit better. Its always smart to enthusiastically say "Yes,
of course!" when I ask you to be my valentine. Bill Gates and
Steve Ballmer sent me a Valentine's card. How sweet. Click the thumbnail
to see it. I got chocolates and a flower from one of the gallery
sales reps. That was nice. He is cool, he always wears these incredibly
cool tie tacks. He collects them or something. After BSD install
fun Jason and I went to the grocery store. I'm going to dinner with
him and his family tonight. That should be interesting. His mother
collects civil war antiques, and her house is like a museum. After
that I was thinking about going to Karma to make Michele feel happier,
but I think Jason wants to go to Swinging Richard's. Oh boy.
Remember - tomorrow is Jason's birthday. We're going to Benihana.
You're welcome to come with us. We're meeting at 7:30 at Sloan
Square. Ummm, email me
or him for details. I think after that we are going to Backstreet,
so... this will be an interesting weekend.

Stress - but in a good way. I have an interview Thursday. I submitted
a ton of resumes today, plus have been contacted by lots of recruiters.
I'll do followups all day tomorrow. Today I found a killer job I
really want. Its for "internal applicants only" but I
submitted a resume anyway saying that if it becomes available to
outside candidates, I'm the one. Heh. Lots of crazy things going
on at work. I'm not terribly concerned. I hope I'll have a new job
before it matters. I mean, when a company tells you they're planning
on firing you, its only natural that you might shift your working
habits from catering to their interests, to being concerned about
your own. Luckily, my boss totally understands. Thank you so much
to all of the people who have helped me. I can't even begin to name
everyone. Thank you thank you thank you. I completely appreciate
it.
I dunno. Super busy, lots to do. Lug
tomorrow. Should be a good presentation, its about quality of
service and routing I believe. I always enjoy listening to presentations
just about standard networking. I find them pleasant and interesting.
Can't believe I've been so busy. This weekend will be jam packed
as well. It's Jason's
birthday and we've got a very tight schedule to follow. Lots of
strange goings on to celebrate his 21st. I believe I am the official
chaperon and safety coordinator.
Oh, and Eric, from Occasional
Hell was kind enough to send me a lovely Valentine's Day greeting.
Thank you, sweetpants.

Lovely lovely weekend. Did so many things. Saw so many people. I
can't even recount it all here. It was just great though. Probably
one of the best I've had in years. I had an interview today. It
went lovely, in my opinion. Its so far away from my house, but it
seems like it might be cool. I am sort of hoping for the Morehouse
school of medicine thing to materialize. I think that would benefit
more people [KM] and be more fun.
I've been so busy. Have another website to do. Interesting project.
I'll link it tomorrow. So freaking busy. I removed all my web
editing software from my computer at work, so I guess I'll just
be doing updates from home. I so desperately want to get out of
my current job. If you know of anything, please please please
let me know. I promise I'm smarter and more employable than you
might think. I need to update pictures and stuff, I just haven't
had a chance. It takes a lot of work. There are almost 1000 pictures
in the archive. And that's a lot.
 |
I put up new pictures. Its just a big mess of stuff from the
last year or so. Mini-archive.
Strange to go through them and see all my little hair cuts and
things. I dunno. I've looked the same since I was like 8. So,
no big differences. Click the thumbnail to view the little gallery.
Also, I have been relegated to a rank less than 25 on the only
cam portal I really like, so, I hate you. I prefer to stay at
least in the top 15. Love
me? Make it so.

Wow, I am so busy. I've been sending out tons and tons of resumes.
I have an interview on Monday. w00t! Also lots of recruiters have
contacted me which is great, and so far everyone has said my resume
is lovely. That means a lot to me considering I worked my ass off
on it and got much help from my friends. Very stressful trying to
sum up your entire professional existence on two short pages.
I'm going to do a website for a con that is in the works. I should
have something up within the next few days. I can't believe how
busy I am. Eek! I'm going to dinner with Jason and his brother,
and John in about 15 minutes, then after that its dinner with
my mother and some of her friends, and then its probably going
to be off to the fantasm party to keep Michele safe. If its awful
I think we're just going to go over to the new 80's night at the
Rarity. Oh gosh. I am so busy.

I'm sort of hesitant to post this, because its a bit controversial,
but I am really interested to know what other people think of it.
I don't know anything about programming, and I have stated that
a million times. So, arguing with me about how java compiles usually
won't get you anywhere, but I felt this idiot to be so foolish and
closed minded that I would take up the responsibility of the good
little cheerleader I am, and do what I could to thwart evil. He
messaged me attempting to hit on me. I had been at install
fest all day, trying to find enough Red Hat CDs. It was definitely
not the time to tell me that javascript was an "Enterprise
Solution" Be sure to check out his icq info, and resume, both
linked on the page. Sorry, buddy, but javascript is what is known
as a "geocities solution" Check
it out. |

I put up the images from installfest.
It was sponsored by the Lug@GT.
Looks like my image galleries are getting a little too big for the
left side bar. May have to make a separate page. Oh, how I hate
that. Anyway, go check them out. |

Mmmm, how delicious. New month, with new sections. I added the old
index content to the archives.
Remember, my birthday is Tuesday, only 3 shopping days left. I'm
incredibly busy this weekend. InstallFest,
Karma, Cyberia,
2600, suburbs,
all sorts of things.
I installed squid
on OpenBSD
and Red Hat yesterday. What fun. [Yes, OpenBSD. Its a long story]
I really like it and see many possibilities for stealthy web surfing
and spying on others. I sent a cover letter and resume to a recruiter
today. Hoping to get out of here as quickly as possible. If you
love me, find me a job. I'll send you a resume if you email
me. Even just for critique.
