Someone once said "A friend is a person you can inconvenience."
I think that's true in a lot of ways, but is by no means an exhaustive
metaphor. A friend is a person who will sit on the phone with you
for countless hours helping you build and rebuild and build again
your firewall. A friend is a person who will help you analyze your
tcpdump out put when you're experiencing random packet loss. A friend
will explain the intricacies of DNS to make you stop crying because
your domain won't properly resolve. A friend will teach you PHP
and then give you quizzes to make sure you learned everything properly.
Next Week's topic : SB, fake hair, professional wrestlers, rollerskates,
power noise, STFU! and geek conventions. |

Herr Doctor is right. I should work on that. Maybe he will work
on it some with me. I think we've overstepped the bounds of the
doctor-patient relationship. As usual I have a lot to say but neither
the time nor inclination to write it. Its the old diary-excitment
adage. Instead of writing about it, I'm living it. Uh huh that's
right.
Going to the Chamber tonight, hoping to meet the cyber-goggle-geek
star Ryan Lackey. I will make fun of him and see what happens. Trial
by fire, people. Trial by fire! |

I know someone who does this thing. It frustrated and annoyed me.
I started thinking about it a lot, focusing on it. Wondering why,
if it was intentional or just an oversight. I kept thinking about
it, and couldn't stop. I noticed I was spending more and more time
on questioning this single behavior.
I started doing it too.
People have been asking me about it. I would say that for those
who ask, there are 3 more who wonder. I love it. |

9:00 - Indulgent and badforme breakfast.
12:00 - Even more cleaning progress. Great phone call, although
far too short.
2:00 - Amazing. Can't wait to discuss it with someone. Absolutely
wonderful.
7:00 - Dinner with a great friend, strange waiter, delicious
pasta.
9:00 - Better than even hoped. I think I'm high.
11:00 - Friends brought me surprise ice cream. CCE - my favourite.
Why is it orange?
That was my day. Now I have to decide if I want to PHP or sleep.

Being decisive
feels so good. My web is incredibly tangled,
that feels good. Will 2:00
feel good? What about 9:00? The clean, the cold,
the Cubanate
feels good. It feels good when you do what you do to me when you
watch TV. |

We all know that I'm a hardcore
political freak, right? I like computers too. I judge people
on their technology choices.
I did some research:
|
|
Republican Party website appears to use static html
and some server side cgi stuff. It is being hosted on Windows
2000 using IIS. |
|
|
Democratic Party website appears to be almost wholly
static and is hosted on Linux.
|
|
|
GreenParty website is 100% static. It is hosted
on Linux.
|
None of these loser "parties" get links.
If you want to see their sites, google it.
The LibertarianParty
website uses php to make their site. The LP
site is hosted on FreeBSD
using Apache.
I've voted straight LP
since I was 18. [Well, except for the last DNC primary, when I
voted for Denise Majette so I could get Cynthia McKinney the hell
out of congress]

Just got home from a date with four of the hottest men in Atlanta.
I'm constantly surrounded by gorgeous men who love and adore me.
Have you noticed?
Its perfect.
I wouldn't change a thing.
Sean : I met a girl.
Victor : Oh?
Sean : Yeah. She's sweet and pure and innocent and perfect...
She's a virgin.
Victor : What? Hold on... how old is this girl? What's this out
of the car seat on to my meat? Come on. Oh wait... let me
guess... she's a fag hag?
Sean : No...
Victor : ... no, no; its cool - they're fun and they like to dance.
I could gush on and on about the great points. The non-linear,
the soundtrack,
the reverse filming, the monologues, the perfect characters. But,
I won't. Just go see it. I'd like to know what you think.

My hosting company, dreamhost
is the best hosting company on the planet. They just redesigned
their site and its all pretty baby blue like mine. They love me!
Nothing can compare to what I get with them. I get a shell. I
can give people shells. I can give FTP-only access. Mysql, php,
unlimited email addresses. I can check my mail POP3, IMAP, web-based
or I can shell in and use mutt, pine or elm. Whoa! Who else gives
those kinds of options? You should switch to them. Tell them I
referred you.
I really love them and I know they work hard for me. So - kisses!
Love you dreamhost!

Working on SherrodMedia.com.
I am doing web dev for money lately, so I finally got around to
doing a site for myself. If you need web stuff done, let me know.
I'm super fast. A list of the sites I've done can be found on my

Wow. MJQ really rocked last night. So much fun. Jonathan played
the girlvinyl.com
theme song. I also got a nice loud dose of Just
What I Needed, the dancefloor was sort of cleared out then so
I got half of it to myself. That was nice. I danced a lot. So much
good music. MJQ Wednesday is the best club in the city, in my opinion.
There just is nothing better. The music is perfect, the people are
gorgeous, it never fails to please me. A friend of a friend who
lives in Tampa said that they have like 4 Britpop nights down there.
Mmmmmm. Delicious!
Message to the guy at the corner of the bar : You're way too short
to be batman. Also - Bruce Wayne would never let some girl smack
him around in bed. Ew.
I wish Butch and Grufti hadn't gone missing pre-MJQ. They were
seriously missed. Luckily Shane and Roy were there to entertain
me. I like it when Roy dances, its fun.

time. |

Had a lovely day. Visit to three different banks - cash, cash, deposit.
Then to see Gary to have my eyebrows done. I do not believe in eyebrow
DIY. Feel free to compare mine to those who do. Came home to work
a bit. Recreational and business phone calls. Michele came over
and we went to yoga. Then to dinner with Grufti and Butch. After
that coffee, followed by many hours by the pool discussing strange
animals and my insane politics.
One of my favourite authors
is telling me to shush. How cute. |

Oh ecstasy! Someone granted my wish and wrote about me.
...but i had a problem...i couldn't "see"
past houston...i mean where was i to go? well its this attitude
that landed me in atlanta...not that i have a real interest in living
there but i needed to get my stretch on and atlanta isn't that far
away...besides there is someone real interesting that lives there...she
reminds me of a car bomb...one second you think your all safe and
going on a little happy trip and the next second KABLOOIE!!!...very
personal...very destructive...quite deadly.
[Yes, its pink for a reason.]
Handsome rewards, dear - I promise.

Went to Secret Room tonight, had a great time. Somehow by the end
of the night I was wearing Grufti's goggles on my head. I have now
seen how the other half lives. Can you feel the cyberness? I can
shoot frickin' laserbeams out of my head or something now. It was
totally surreal. I'm just not a goggles-on-the-head kind of girl.
Photos coming soon. |

Went to Karma
last night. Had an absolutely wonderful time. Butch wants to make
it a weekly event. Sounds good to me. Their dancefloor sucks, and
unfortunately, its the club I've danced most at recently. How funny
that my favourite places to dance [mjq, karma]
always have horrid dancefloors and are extremely hot. I need to
talk to Jonathan, someone get me his number or his email address
please.
We're going to secret room tonight for some sort of farscape party
or something. Sounds.... dorky.
I recently tried the Post
Honey Bunches of Oats with Strawberries. I normally go for
the Post
Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds, but I decided to live
on the edge. I love it - its fucking great. The strawberries are
sliced and dehydrated, so when the milk hits them, it turns them
back into regular strawberries. Ladies and gentlemen, the space
age is HERE! Cereal is so god damn cool.

Tee hee. Indulging in a little livejournal style evil. I've found
a whole new source of ego boost. In the immortal words of Legolas,
"still the prettiest! go me!"
Remember when Mary tells Nigel [not my canadian boyfriend, he really
does rule] that he lowers her worth? Michele and I were talking
about that last night. When we see that a boy's exgirlfriends are
all really unattractive, it makes the boy less attractive. This
is a standard rule of dating that is actually so cliche there has
even been a Seinfeld episode about it.
In this voice - remember, it is a detriment to vary from addressing
the many, to addressing the one. We have to make broadcasts feel
like intimate conversations. Its the most effective. It loses impact
even when its someone else who is having a one-on-one with you.
Sometimes - you know what I mean.

Talking to Michele tonight about people and things from the past.
I grabbed the stack of paper journals I've kept over the years.
Four volumes total. Pages and pages of record keeping. I decided
to transcribe a bit because they're so interesting to me. I read
so many things I felt like I should add to this site.
Tonight's morsel is in reference to a boy I dated a long time ago.
I recently saw him out somewhere, and honestly felt absolutely nothing.
He's a nice person and all - he just evokes completely neutral feelings
from me now.

A little negativity - just for balance:
I fucking hate you and you make me sick.
Mmmmmm, feels good to be back to normal. That whole sickly-sweet
thing just really isn't me. Remind me if I ever do that again.

A cursory update:
Michele is here safe and sound, sleeping in my big white bed.
Suede is sleeping on the floor next to her, keeping her safe.
I feel motivated and happy and can't wait for sunup.
I'm reading back over one of my favourite journals. I love it
so much for lots of reasons - the main one being that it mentions
me so often. I have a new goal of being mentioned in this journal
as much as possible. I like being written about. Write
about me.
Hi Steve!
Today someone told me that my ass has the power to change the
course of nature.

Mmmm, I see Dr. Lecter tomorrow. I can't wait. |
|
Wednesday 02.10.2002 10:15 PM
|
Alright, the 'to kill' list is officially cleared. Good for you.
Michele will be here in a little over 12 hours so I'm in a forgiving
mood.
Now, someone buy me this.
Seriously. Buy me this and I will be the happiest girl on the
planet. Plus I will be able to take decent pictures instead of
icky, low quality ones. Actually, you have two ways to gain my
love and affection - buy me the Canon
PowerShot S200 Digital Elph Camera, or get me a job.
Pleeeease?
Look at my sad
little face. Don't you want to make me happy?
